The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically affected us all but, in particular, it has been a very difficult time for the UK tourism industry, directly affecting thousands of businesses, attractions, and enterprises, including us here at the Ironworks.
We are so thankful to finally see visitors steadily returning back to us again, but it is still a difficult struggle trying to adjust to the ever-changing Government regulations and hospitality directives. These really do present many challenges for our staff and management teams and, whilst we continue to navigate these hurdles and do our very best to give all of our visitors the best experience, we cannot provide all of the same facilities that we did pre-virus.
By visiting us, you allow us to remain open and give us that all-important platform to recover following the struggles of lockdown. We thank you for your patience, understanding, and support and hope that 2021 will see a return to full operations again – where we can hopefully shine as brightly as we did before!
Our Forge Café is open every weekday serving an array of delicious, locally roasted Coffee, tea and hot drinks, as well as a full menu of homemade meals, cakes and freshly baked scones.
We have plenty of indoor seating within the Cafe, as well as a wonderful undercover garden room and a large canopy area with plenty of seating (dogs welcome in the garden room)!

Whilst we can’t currently host any dedicated children’s activities here at the Centre, our on-site play area is always open (weather permitting) and features a variety of safe and approved climbing frames, slides, and tunnels for your children to enjoy. Additionally, our metal sculpture park is the perfect place for children to explore and learn more about our Earth’s beautiful wildlife whilst burning up some of their energy!
Best known for our incredible sculptures, we have various pieces of art and points-of-interest to see and enjoy as you wander around the Centre. Famous for the knife angel and, more recently, the Gorilla Apocalypse, our centre is the ideal location to spend some much-needed time outdoors, walking the grounds and exploring the metal safari park at your own pace.
